Final is (almost) done, school is out.

Kicking in, finally a break from the semester long of homeworking, exam-preping, coffee-drinking, late-night candle burning, document processing, papers reading, on top of graduate school application. Phew, its been a long semester, yet it felt as though it had just started yesterday.

3 more hours to end of Fall 2007. Then one more semester to end of my Bachelor Degree. I felt the urge to linger some more. Is this a strange thought?

Practice Room’s Magic Fingers

16 11 2007

(from my Photostream)

Music students spent hours practicing in cubicle-like rooms apart from writing and reading music-related papers. And just like this fingers moving across the strings at breakneck pace for hours at one time. Like people say, 1% talent and 99% hardwork. Certainly so with all the music students I have met so far.

I love geography

14 11 2007

(from my photostream)

The school’s geography department held a geographic information system (GIS) display in the main lobby of the Herman B Wells Library. The display consists of art work done on ‘Indiana’ and a load of satellite images of Indiana and of course Bloomington. There are also antique maps of Bloomington and Monroe County (one of the county in the state of Indiana).

That sculpture is of late Herman B Wells, former president and chancellor of the Indiana University. You may look up more about him on the probably-more-accurate Wikipedia.

Weather forecast – today’s temperature: 62 degrees Fahrenheit. I know.

The Jacob School of Music is one of the top music school in the world, not just for the talent that it have and produced but also for its massive size (1,600 students) as a music school.

Lucky for the locals, including residents, students and faculties, Jacob School of Music ensures up to 1,100 (no kidding) of free musical events, ranging student and faculty recitals to formal concerts per semester. And with top notch faculties, the Indiana University Jacob School of Music continue to attract music students from near and far.

Kudos to IUJSM! (don’t you just love them acronyms!) :)

Art of Music

This sculpture stand right in front of the Musical Arts Center. It corresponds to the red sculpture in front of the Art Museum designed by I.M Pei (the gentleman who designed Louvre Pyramid in Paris). It has been undergoing repainting this semester. The sculpture was painted in three layers. First a white protective layer, then an orange layer to blend in with the final red paint. It looks nice and shiny now with the new set of paint. :)

Still Warm

(from Photostream)

This time last year, I would never thought of going out to take photographs in shorts, nor were the water fountains still running (they turn it off after the temperature drop to a certain degree to ensure it doesn’t bloat up and explode). On top of that, Bloomington’s green campus provided the rest. It was a nice afternoon out photo-shooting. :)
